Active since 2017 with two albums behind them, the Italians band The Mothman Curse are an interesting reality dedicated to a Nu Metal that is not at all easy to digest in the good sense of the word.

“Lie, Pt.1” therefore represents the natural continuation of a discography centered on Metal and vaguely Hardcore atmospheres, which should be read in the logic of what the band wants to convey rather than from the mere material sound that comes out of the folds of a proposal which, in the end, is very appreciable.

A technical album full of riffs articulated as the genre requires. “Lie, Pt.1” is made up of tracks capable both of exalting in some situations, and of engaging in listening, due to pompous excesses, but contrary to what it might seem, I don’t see it as a defect, but rather as a advantage of playing what you want without technical limits.

In any case, the master part is played by all the members of the band, present in a predominant and energetic way. Among the tracks to be reported, “React” is particularly striking, a really well composed and well performed song worthy of other much more famous bands of the genre; a song played on the clean/harsh vocals dichotomy and endowed with an interesting progression that unfolds for over four minutes of duration before paving the way for another great ptrack like “Darkness Inside” energetic and rough.

“Lie, Pt.1”, is absolutely not bad and will certainly be able to fascinate or interest only the lovers of the genre, preparing to listen to it several times to understand its true essence which lies in the search for aggressiveness even before the atmospheres that is required of any Nu Metal project.
