Alessia Luongo, a performer and sound artist, presents “60 Watts of Insomnia”—the lead single from METAFICTION, an experimental EP blending electroacoustic and electronic sounds, scheduled for release in December 2026.
The title links a unit of electrical power to a deeply human condition: insomnia. This association between energy, ceaseless activity, and the inability to find rest serves as a metaphor for an organism coursing with impulses that it cannot switch off.

METAFICTION is an experimental EP moving between electroacoustic and electronic sound. Electric guitar, voice and analogue synthesizer form the original material of a sonic universe marked by fractures, interference and digital transformations.
The compositions alternate unstable melodic structures, distortion and sudden harmonic openings. The guitar frequently loses its instrumental identity, becoming a noisy surface, rhythmic impulse or timbral material. The voice moves away from narrative and verbal functions to become a physical gesture.
Between tension and structure, density and sparseness, METAFICTION explores a sonic dimension in which each form seems about to assert itself, only to be interrupted, deformed or reconstructed.
